Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

II Timothy 3:16-17; Every Scripture is God breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action).

II Peter 1:21; For no prophecy ever originated because some man will it [to do so - it never cam by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

.

The Trinity

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons? God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the sender of the World. The Son is the Word made flesh and has existed with the Father from the beginning. The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal.

1 John 5:7-8; So there are three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One; and there are three witnesses on the earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three [are in unison; their testimony coincides].

Philippians 2:6-7; Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

John 10:10; I and the Father are One.

John 14:26; But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things, And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

Man's Fall and Redemption

Man is created in the image of God but through Adams fall, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God". God sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth in the form of a man and gave His life and died on the cross to restore us back to God, therefore undoing the work of the Devil. Salvation is the free gift of God to man, which we receive by faith in Jesus Christ. Through confessing our sin and asking God to forgive us and accepting Him as Lord and Savior of our life, we can spend eternity in Heaven with God.

Romans 5:1-2; Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

Ephesians 3:8-9; For it is by FREE grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]

Romans 3:24; [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus.

.

Personal Relationship with God - Eternal Life

Through salvation you can have a personal relationship with God through repentance of your sins. Through the New Birth you are a Born Again Christian and you will have eternal life with God in Heaven.

.

Hell - Eternal Life

The one who dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost and at death will be hurled into the Lake of Fire, and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal, the terms "eternal" and "everlasting", used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire. Hell is a real place and a permanent separation from God. God's desire is for everyone to accept His son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to spend eternity in Heaven.

Matthew 13:50; And shall cast them [the wicked] into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth.

Hebrews 9:27; And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment.

Revelation 20:15; And if anyone's [name] was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire.

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus Christ, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Matthew 28:19; Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 6:4; We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life.

Acts 8:36-38; And as they continued along on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch exclaimed, See, [here is] water! What is to hinder my being baptized? And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart [if you have a conviction, full of joyful trust, that Jesus is the Messiah and accept Him as the Author of your salvation in the kingdom of God, giving Him your obedience, then] you may. And he replied, I do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he ordered that the chariot be stopped; and both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and [Philip] baptized him.

.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. It is the evidence of speaking in other tongues as well as the demonstration of spiritual power in daily life.

Matthew 3:11; I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Acts 2:4; And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].

Acts 10:44-46; While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who were listening to the message. And the believers from among the circumcised [the Jews] who came with Peter were surprised and amazed, because the free gift of the Holy Spirit had been bestowed and poured out largely even on the Gentiles. For they heard them talking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and extolling and magnifying God.

Acts 19:6; And as Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in [foreign, unknown] tongues (languages) and prophesied.

Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe that sanctification is the ongoing process of allowing God's character to be developed in us.

Romans 6:19; I am speaking in familiar human terms because of your natural limitations. For as you yielded your bodily members [and faculties] as servants to impurity and ever increasing lawlessness, so now yield your bodily members [and faculties] once for all as servants to righteousness (right being and doing) [which leads] to sanctification.

Romans 5:22-25; But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such tings there is no law [that can bring a charge]. And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]

Hebrews 12:14; Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.

I Thessalonian 5:23; And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

II Peter 3:18; But grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honor, majesty, and splendor) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)!

.

Divine Healing

Healing is by the power of God through Jesus who is the Healer through prayer of faith and/or by the laying on of hands. Healing is for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration. Jesus paid the price for us and by His stripes we were healed at the cross at Calvary.

Luke 9:11; But when the crowds learned of it, [they] followed Him; and He welcomed them and talked to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed restoration to health.

Matthew 8:17; And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.

Matthew 9:35; And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and every weakness and infirmity.

I Peter 2:24; He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.

Jesus is Coming Back - The Second Coming

Jesus is coming back soon to take all those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior to heaven for eternity.

Acts 1:11; Who said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was caught away and lifted up from among you into heaven, will return in [just] the same way in which you saw Him go into heaven.

I Thessalonian 4:13-17; Now also we would not have you ignorant, brethren, about those who fall asleep [in death], that you may not grieve [for them] as the rest do who have no hope [beyond the grave]. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him through Jesus those who have fallen asleep [in death]. For this we declare to you by the Lord's [own] word, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall in no way precede [into His presence] or have any advantage at all over those who have previously fallen asleep [in Him in death]. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

Hebrews 9:28; Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.
